Note 12: Teacher is your student

According to Albert Einstein most important question facing humanity is, Is the universe a friendly place? Meditators notice that as they make progress, the whole universe is working with them. Today let’s talk about how meditators attract life’s lessons in their journey.

The teacher is your student! What does it mean? Once you start meditating, the conscious energy starts supporting your life’s events. Almost it feels like someone is watching you and providing you with events in your life which help your Inner journey. The universe looks like your eager student providing notes for your journey. If you are full of compassion and love, you can expect the same from life. It seems like whatever you are, life reflects the same as an eager student. The meditator learns from everything life offers to him. You see, this Universe is teacher and student at the same time.

In East, they say, when you are ready, the master appears. This has been wrongly interpreted by West. No person appears and says I am your teacher. That is also a possibility but that is not the meaning. What the quote means is that Life starts throwing at your events, moments, relationships that can teach you something. Life itself conspires to teach you everything you need to learn. Every moment becomes a lesson and teacher in your life.

Meditators at this stage are advised to look at every moment in life as a lesson. You will keep stumbling on books, tapes, people who are answering your questions. Let me give you an example. If Anger is your basic issue, you may keep stumbling upon people who can raise your anger or events which can trigger your anger. You will also often stumble upon spiritual information to overcome anger. You will also come across moments where you can become aware of the root cause of your anger. You see that two events namely which triggers your anger and answers to your anger issues are happening. All you have to do is to learn from both opportunities.

What can you do?

Meditators need to understand at this stage every event needs to be met with awareness. You have to go on seeking. You will meet many teachers in many forms. You have to meet everyone with humbleness and gratitude. Life’s lessons appear in all forms. Keep learning from every book, every teacher, every event, and every relationship, and keep moving on. Move on with gratitude. Don’t get stuck anywhere or don’t fight anywhere. Just surrender to the many things happening in your life. When the time is right and you are ready, Master will appear too!

Meditators journal is an important aid and it can help you understand the significance of a lot of events in your life. Maintain a journal where you can note down the obstacles for your meditation. It can be an emotional issue or a thing of the past or even a relationship. Always and always keep seeking and keep meditating. Note down how events happening around you are related to the challenges you are experiencing. You will see and understand a lesson. Be receptive, meditative, and surrender, Universe will take care of you. Simply trust!
